A typical chiastic structure in the Old or New Testament has 5, 10, perhaps 15 elements. There is a book-length structure in the Book of Revelation with 45 pairs. Nothing, though, prepared me for the 274 pairs that undergird the entire book of 1 Nephi. In decades of studying the literature, I have never seen anything this epic. 1 Nephi is a masterpiece. Nephi was a genius.
